A constitutional petition was lodged by 48 People’s Deputies of Ukraine

On November 23, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine was seized with a constitutional petition of 48 People’s Deputies of Ukraine on the constitutionality of the provisions of paragraph 10.17, paragraph 15 of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine "On the introduction of quarantine and the stepping up anti-epidemic measures in the area with a significant spread of acute respiratory disease COVID-19 caused by coronavirus SARS-CoV-2" of July 22, 2020 № 641 as amended.

According to the petitioners, certain provisions of this Resolution do not comply with a number of norms of the Basic Law of Ukraine. In addition, they note that the issues raised in the constitutional petition are of particular social and economic importance, as they concern, inter alia, issues of life and health of citizens.

The text of the constitutional petition is available at the Court’s official website (section “Pending before the Court”).
